One week, three books. Welcome 2013.

Happy New Year my dear followers, I hope you had a great time !

The year began seven days ago and I’ve already read three books – not bad , not bad..
I challenged myself on Goodreads to read 60 books in 2013. I really hope I’m going to make it, if not, I will be really mad at myself. I love books, I spend my time on Goodreads and The Book Depository searching for new books, I buy a lot of them (like, 10-15 in just one month.. yep..) and read a few of them because sometimes, I don’t take the time. But that’s an other story. However I started a tumblr about books (and knitting) : Knit and Read

So what books did I read this week ?

Books

- Inside HBO’s Game of Thrones.
Antonin got me this for Christmas (what a flawless man..) and I must say that it was one of the greatest gift I ever had (well two years ago he got me that huge books on the Beatles and I said the same thing.)
I really enjoyed reading this one, as a huge fan of the books and the show, it was a pleasure to read. They also included costumes drawings, I liked that so much, it was really cool to see the sketches next to the pictures of the actual dresses used in the show.

Game of Thrones BOOKS - Candice Lesage

Game Of Thrones HBO - Candice LESAGE

- Before I Die, Jenny Downham.
Then I read this book because I knew that it was adapted on screen (under the name Now Is Good) and I wanted to read the book before seeing the film. I really really enjoyed it, but I didn’t enjoy the film that much, it was too different from the book so … yeah ..
Tessa has just months to live. Fighting back against hospital visits, endless tests, drugs with excruciating side-effects, Tessa compiles a list. It’s her To Do Before I Die list.

- Barbe Bleue, Amélie Nothomb.
My father-in-law got me the last Amélie Nothomb book for Christmas. Most of my international readers won’t know her because she’s a Belgian author (writing in French). I really enjoyed this one (I didn’t enjoy the two precedents) even though I thought her writing was a bit odd for once.

I still have a lot of books to read, and I’m still adding more to my to-read list on Goodreads. What books are on your to-read list? Are you on Goodreads?
